about

My primary professional interest is the convergence of medicine, technology, and business. For me, health care information technology is the nexus of these diverse interests. My professional objectives are to design, develop, and distribute health care technologies that increase access, enhance efficiency, and improve quality of care. However, technology is only the enabler of the wider reform movement that must take place in order to revolutionize the health care industry. This Crossover Health blog is an ongoing conversation which focuses on the enabling technologies that transform the delivery, financing, and outcomes of high performance health systems.

If you are interested in discussing consulting, speaking, or other opportunities related to the above interests, please feel to Email me. You can also follow me on Twitter.

  • Good luck to your new adventure.

  • I’ve been reading your blog, and because I’ve found it highly informative yet still accessible, I wanted to share something you may find interesting: Current TV’s Viewpoints (http://current.com/viewpoints), a forum for people to voice their opinions on a variety of topics, including health care. With the presidential election less than a year away, it’s important for voters to not only discuss, but hear where the actual candidates’ opinions lay on specific topics. For the first time ever, voters have a voice that can run right alongside the candidates’ – real people, real candidates, real opinions – side by side.

I’d love to have you and your readers get involved – please let me know what you think of the forum and check out the recent post by Al Gore regarding health care, specifically.

  • Hi, Dr. Shreeve,

I notice that your blog no longer mentions you as the author – neither on the posts nor in the ‘about’ page. Are you no longer the sole author?

    Thanks!

Glad to see you are finally working again.

  • Adam Schlifke, MD, MBA

Great blog. I’ve only just started to read but your interests very closely overlap mine. Would love to talk more.

  • I’m an economist/free lance writer doing an article on anonymous MD rating sites (RateMDs.com, the new WLPT-Zagat venture, Vimo, Careseek, Drscore and others) and would like to get your input (along with other experts) on their value, esp. for patients and consumers and possible risks for MDs. I would prefer to talk live and would be happy to give you a call at your convenience, but it’s preferable, I could also e-mail you a list of questions. You should feel free to respond to all or any subset and/or add other comments you feel relevant.

    thanks,

  • I have been working since 2001 to integrate technology into clinical care from a remote monitoring and mentoring perspective. My current efforts are to bring that knowledge into the arena of modeling and simulation. It is great to read the comments regarding your efforts. Excellent. Look forward to in person discussion as well.

Great coverage on twitter of health information technology space Scott. One of the few who posts leading edge information versus just repeating the news.
